Attract NeuroMap Magnetic Particle Imaging Head Scanner
About
As part of the Attract Neuromap project, a prototype scanner was developed that can be used as a mobile platform for stroke detection. The scanner makes it possible to measure the electromagnetic reaction of superparamagnetic nanoparticles that are introduced into the patient's blood and to localize them with high temporal resolution.
Opportunity
Stroke is one of the most common and most complex diseases of the brain. It occurs in ischemic form (vascular blockage) and hemorrhagic form (bleeding), each of which has its own treatment strategies. Rapid diagnosis using CT or MRI is crucial, but these devices are expensive and their mobility is limited. Continuous monitoring is necessary even after successful intervention.
Solution/Product description
Our developed head scanner can be used both in clinical facilities and, after appropriate device optimization, in ambulances. This simplifies and accelerates stroke diagnosis and enables 24/7 monitoring of the patient. In addition, the special arrangement of selective field coils allows not only the recording of images, but also the magnetic manipulation of small objects in the brain area.
Why Us
Our experience in the development of special solutions (filters, coils, resonant circuits, low-noise amplifiers) makes us a reliable choice for the development of medical devices. Our partners are large companies and research institutes involved in the research and development of preclinical and clinical medical devices.
