University of Lübeck PhD Candidate Wins CTRL-P Award at AMMM 2026

During the 8th International Conference on Additive Manufacturing Meets Medicine (AMMM 2026), the CTRL-P Award, sponsored by Nikon SLM Solutions AG, was presented. The award recognizes outstanding scientific contributions in the field of additive manufacturing for medical applications and honors innovative research with exceptional scientific and practical impact.

The CTRL-P Award is presented as a People's Choice Award. All participants of AMMM 2026 were invited to evaluate the presented research based on scientific quality, methodological excellence, significance of the results, and visual presentation. The award aims to highlight research projects with the potential to significantly advance the future of medical additive manufacturing. The award ceremony was conducted by Dr.-Ing. Simon Merkt-Schippers, Product Manager at Nikon SLM Solutions AG in Lübeck.

First place in the CTRL-P Award 2026 was awarded to Lea Evers, a PhD candidate at the University of Lübeck. Her outstanding research impressed the international scientific community and received the highest number of votes. Second place, shared jointly, was awarded to Marie Julien from the Aortic Center, Hôpital Marie Lannelongue, Groupe Hospitalier Paris Saint Joseph (GHPSJ), Le Plessis-Robinson, France, and Kendra Hemken from Fraunhofer IMTE, Lübeck.

Organized by the University of Lübeck and Fraunhofer IMTE, AMMM 2026 brought together 85 participants from 21 countries in Lübeck. The conference focuses on the latest developments at the interface of additive manufacturing, medical technology, and clinical applications and has established itself as one of the leading international conferences in this field (www.ammm.science). The event was supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and chaired by Prof. Dr. Thorsten M. Buzug, Director of the Institute of Medical Engineering at the University of Lübeck and Director of Fraunhofer IMTE.
